POSITION SUMMARY:
Brooklyn Candle Studio is seeking a full-time Social Media Coordinator, responsible for cultivating the company's digital social media presence. This role requires a deep and current understanding of social media platforms, trends, and audience engagement strategies. The Social Media Coordinator will play a pivotal role in building brand awareness, fostering community engagement, and driving traffic to the company's website and other digital channels. This role will report to our Marketing Manager, working closely with them to provide support for all things digital social media.
This is a hybrid role, based in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Candidates must be able to commute to our studio and retail store on a regular basis (to be determined by your manager), as well as attend in-person events, trade shows, and photoshoots as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES include but are not limited to:
Social Media Strategy
- Work with Marketing Manager and creative team to craft comprehensive social media strategies aligned with the company's overall marketing goals and brand identity.
- Develop and manage social media content calendars, ensuring consistent and timely posting schedules. Stay up to date on holidays and current events and adjust content schedule accordingly.
Content Creation
- Develop and implement visually compelling original content such as graphics, Reels, video footage, and product demos. Capture in-store and in-studio moments, highlighting product features and brand storytelling.
- Must be comfortable being on camera. Provide voiceovers if needed.
- Assist on photoshoots: scheduling/booking space, compiling shot lists, etc.
Community Management and Engagement:
- Foster a sense of community by actively engaging with followers, responding to comments and direct messages promptly and professionally.
- Re-post relevant content to Stories, “like” and comment on relevant tagged Posts, ie, that of our retailers and collaborators.
- Monitor social media to identify opportunities to participate in relevant discussions and trends.
- Manage online reputation by addressing negative comments and feedback constructively, if needed.
- Keep profiles updated with accurate information, ie Instagram bio, Linktree, etc.
Influencers/Public Relations
- Research, identify and build relationships with relevant social media influencers to expand brand reach and engage new audiences.
- Coordinate product sends to influencers/editors with Marketing Manager and shipping team
- Oversee influencer campaigns, ensuring that influencers meet the agreed-upon deliverables (posts, stories, videos, etc.) and deadlines
- Lead in ideation, planning, and execution of special events
- Handle guest lists, RSVPs, and post-event coverage
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Marketing or Communications preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in social media marketing or similar role
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media campaigns.
- Excellent proofreading and copywriting skills
- Must have a great eye for visual design aesthetics
- Passion for home fragrances, fashion, social media, and pop culture with a pulse on current and emerging trends
- Detail-oriented and organized, able to work in a fast-paced hybrid work environment and meet deadlines
- A collaborative self-starter who excels both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn videography
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva, and video editing software
- Bonus: Professional photography background
