Cypress Tree - Franca x BCS Artist Edition Candle
CYPRESS TREE: Coniferous notes of cypress, fir balsam, and juniper mingle to recall that magical time of year, hunting for the perfect tree.
We collaborated with fellow Brooklyn-based studio, Franca, on this one-of-a-kind ceramic candle. Inspired by the idea of fusing modern designs with the warmth of handmade aesthetics, the artists at Franca create a timeless design that's both functional and beautiful.
About Franca: Founded by ceramic artists Sierra Yip-Bannicq and Jazmin De La Guardia, Franca was born from an idea: there are common threads that bind us. No matter where you come from or where you are going, there is a commonality to be discovered. This common language, or lingua franca, is what Franca strives to achieve. Craftsmanship, design, and artistry make up the foundation of their work.
Made in Brooklyn, New York with 100% soy wax derived from American-grown soy beans for an eco-friendly, clean burn. Uses a lead-free cotton wick primed with vegetable based wax and premium grade fragrance oil. No added dyes or chemicals.
Product Details
Candle Care + Safety
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep.
- Trim the wick to ¼ inch each time before lighting. This helps prevent the flame from getting too large.
- Follow the 2 foot rule - don't place a burning candle near clothing, books, curtains or anything flammable.
- Keep lit candles away from drafts, ceiling fans and any air currents.
- Place candle holders on a stable, heat-resistant surface that is sturdy and large enough to catch any melted wax.
- Extinguish a candle if the flame gets too close to the candle holder or container.
- Place burning candles at least 3 inches apart from one another.
- A burning candle should not be used as a nightlight.
- A candle should not be burned for more than four hours at a time.
- Don’t burn a candle all the way down. For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a candle when 1/2 inch of wax remains in the container.

Due to the nature of our products, used candles, reed diffusers, and room mists cannot be returned or refunded. We spent months collaborating with perfumers on a scent that truly recreates and honors the deep, woody richness of the sacred Palo Santo (“holy wood”) tree native to Peru, Ecuador, and many Central and South American countries. Since the Incan era, the fragrant wood has been ritualistically burned to cleanse a space of bad energy, and the oil is said to have purifying and healing properties. Our rendition features calming top notes of cedar and mint, middle notes of cypress, and eucalyptus, and warm base notes of sandalwood and amber. This candle is infused with eucalyptus, peppermint, and cedarwood essential oils.
