POSITION SUMMARY:
Social Media Coordinator is responsible for cultivating the company's digital social media presence. Social Media Coordinator will play a pivotal role in building brand awareness, fostering community engagement, creating compelling content, and converting followers + driving organic traffic to the company's website and other digital channels. Social Media Coordinator will bring a blend of creativity, data-driven decision-making, and a collaborative spirit to drive optimal results. Social Media Coordinator will report to our Director, Sales + Marketing, working closely with her to provide support for all things digital social media.
This is a hybrid role, based in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Social Media Coordinator must be able to commute to our Brooklyn studio and retail store on a regular basis (to be determined by your manager), as well as attend in-person events, trade shows, and photoshoots as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES include but are not limited to:
SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY
- Work with Director, Sales + Marketing and Creative Team to craft comprehensive social media strategies aligned with the company's overall marketing goals and brand identity.
- Develop and manage social media content calendars, ensuring consistent and timely posting schedules.
- Stay informed on holidays, cultural moments, and trends, proactively adjusting the content calendar to keep content timely and relevant.
- Ensure all social media platforms are updated consistently, i.e., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, Linktree, Linkedin, and emerging platforms as needed.
- Identify opportunities for growth, new content formats, and audience engagement.
CONTENT CREATION
- Develop and implement visually compelling original content including graphics, Reels, short-form video, product demonstrations, and behind-the-scenes brand storytelling.
- Capture in-store and in-studio moments highlighting product features, lifestyle storytelling, and brand personality.
- Must be comfortable being on camera. Provide voiceovers if needed.
- Assist with photoshoots including scheduling or booking spaces, preparing shot lists, preparing all supplies and props, preparing checklists, and supporting creative direction when needed.
- Assist with writing blog posts and product descriptions, ensuring copy reflects brand voice.
- Utilize AI and emerging creative tools when beneficial to enhance or repurpose content (e.g., transforming still imagery into motion or video formats).
COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT + ENGAGEMENT
- Monitor and drive engagement + followers on all social media platforms.
- Foster a strong sense of community by actively engaging with followers and other brands, responding to comments and direct messages in a timely and professional manner.
- Repost relevant content to Stories or with the “repost on grid” function and interact with tagged posts from retailers, collaborators, influencers, and customers.
- Collaborate with and lead content initiatives with Team Culture Liaison
- Monitor social media conversations to identify opportunities to participate in relevant trends or discussions.
- Manage online reputation by addressing customer questions, feedback, or concerns constructively or notifying the Customer Service Team when necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date profile information across platforms (Instagram bio, Facebook, Linktree, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.).
- Remain flexible on weekends to reshare content or respond to customer engagement when needed.
INFLUENCERS/PUBLIC RELATIONS
- Research, identify and build strong relationships with relevant social media influencers to expand brand reach and engage new audiences.
- Coordinate product gifting and influencer sends with the Director, Sales + Marketing and shipping team.
- Track influencer partnerships and ensure deliverables such as posts, stories, or videos are completed according to campaign expectations.
- Support influencer campaigns and assist in evaluating campaign performance.
- Spearhead event planning including ideation, coordination, and execution of brand activations.
- Spearhead guest list management, RSVPs, and post-event coverage.
- Coordinate with Marketing, Creative, Shipping, Production, and Retail teams to ensure timely product availability, event setup needs, and overall event success.
- Draft press materials or press releases when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Marketing or Communications preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in social media marketing or similar role
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media campaigns.
- Excellent proofreading and copywriting skills
- Must have a great eye for visual design aesthetics
- Passion for home fragrances, fashion, social media, and pop culture with a pulse on current and emerging trends
- Detail-oriented and organized, able to work in a fast-paced hybrid work environment and meet deadlines
- A collaborative self-starter who excels both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn videography
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva, and video editing software
- Bonus: Professional photography background
